San Diego EarthWorks invites local artists and craftspeople to exhibit their earth-friendly works at the 28th annual EarthFair on Sunday, April 23, 2017 the world’s largest free annual environmental fair and Earth Day celebration! It is a great opportunity to expose thousands of San Diegans to your ingenious use of materials and love for our natural environment.
Please invite artists to participate. There is small fee to participate: $25 to just show, $50 + 10% of your gross sales if you sell.
Who May Participate?
We restrict the show to arts and crafts that generally relates to, or delivers a message that pertains to, preservation of our natural environment.
The Gallery is only open to San Diego residents who do not operate a commercial retail store.
We encourage the display of arts and crafts made from recycled, reused, or waste materials; or art representing depicting "endangered" natural resources in San Diego County. The work may relate to the environment in other ways, but some reasonable connection is required.
Where and When Does The Show Take Place?
The show takes place at EarthFair 2017 on April 23, 2017, from 10am - 5pm. Setup is from 8:00am to 9:00am. (The police will close the roads to vehicles promptly at 9:00am; they will remain closed until the end of the fair so don't be late!)
The eARTh Gallery is located on the lawn area off Presidents Way, adjacent to Park Blvd. This is close to our food area and an entertainment stage. (click here to see a map)
What is the Show Space Like?
The eARTh Gallery takes place on a lawn area, the field at Park Blvd. and Presidents Way. EarthWorks will provide tables and chairs; exhibitors should bring any additional display materials that they will need. Please contact EarthWorks directly if you have any special or unusual requirements.
What does it cost to participate? Can I Sell?
Those wishing only to show their works and NOT sell them pay a $25 fee prior to the event. Those wishing to sell pay a fee of $50 (paid prior to the event), plus 10% of their gross sales (payable by May 4).
Is There Anything Else I Need to Know?
We will provide specific setup and breakdown instructions about 2 weeks before the fair. You will be able to download them from the on-line registration system (see below).
eARTh Gallery Registration
San Diego EarthWorks will be handling all EarthFair Applications via an on-line registration system. You will be able to create an account for yourself, fill-out your eARTh Gallery Application, review and change your application at any time, and download their event logistics information before the fair.
To use the system, you do need to have an email account that you use regularly. If you don't have or use email, please call the office at 858-272-7370.
- March 17, 2017: Last day to place an ad in the San Diego Earth Times magazine containing the EarthFair Program Guide
- March 20, 2017: Last day register to have your business name in the EarthFair Program Guide
- April 4, 2017: Last day to register and pay without a $40 late fee.
- April 18, 2017: Last day to register as an exhibitor
You must review the following documents. If you have exhibited before, you will find this familiar. If you have not exhibited before, please look it over carefully; you will need this information to complete the application.
- EarthFair Participant Guidelines. As part of the application process you are required to agree to comply with these rules and guidelines. Please read them carefully.
Using the Registration System
The first step in using the system is to register as an Associate. You will provide your basic contact information (name, address, email, etc.) and give yourself a login name and password. After registering, click the button that says "eARTh Gallery at EarthFair" to begin your registration.
Once you have registered, you can use your login name and password to login to your own account, review and change your application, and download your logistics information before the fair.
If you have exhibited before, we have already created your account - PLEASE USE THAT ACCOUNT. If you have not already received your login information by email, please call the office at 858-272-7370, or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, you may be able to retrieve your account information by entering your email address in the login page; it will be emailed to you.
This registration system is secure; your account can only be accessed with your login name and password. And, as always, we will never provide your personal information to any other organization without your permission for any reason, ever, period.
